Fatherhood Fun Day is coming up tomorrow (May 17, 2025) from 1-9 p.m., at the Peaks Retreat & Adventure Center located at 1336 Simmons Mill Rd., Thaxton.
YOU MAY WANT TO BRING:
- Towel, if you plan to swim.
- Sunscreen, especially f you plan to stay all day and get in the water.
- Water bottle. There will be water stations set up around the property, but having your own bottle would come in handy.
- Fishing pole. There will be a few provided but if you have your own, bring it!
- Bag chair. Some seating is available, but bring a bag chair and rest anywhere on the property.
SCHEDULE:
• 1-5 p.m.—Activities. Choose from a variety of outdoor activities including crafts, climbing wall, fishing, swimming, archery, and canoeing. There will be vendors on site and lots of giveaways!
• 5-7 p.m.—Dinner. Enjoy pizza, and play basketball/gaga ball.
• 7-9 p.m.—Movie: Wind down the day with a movie and bonfire. Save some room for s’mores and popcorn!
This event is a joint collaboration between Bedford County Parks & Recreation, the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office, and Bedford County Department of Social Services.
