Neighborhood Watch
Bedford County is a proud member of the National Neighborhood Watch Association and has many local communities that have taken an interest in crime prevention. The goal of Neighborhood Watch is two-fold—reduce crime while also bringing communities closer together.
A big crime deterrent is the awareness of your surroundings. By bringing communities closer together, members tend to care for each other on a more personal level and will take notice if something is suspicious or out of the normal routine. This approach also helps restore pride in communities and can help residents feel safer and more relaxed in their neighborhood.
Neighborhoods, streets, or communities who are interested in learning more about crime prevention measures, tips for reporting crimes or suspicious activity, or becoming a member of the Bedford County Neighborhood Watch may contact our Neighborhood Watch Coordinator Sgt. Hall at 540-586-4800.
